Subscribe to updates – without joining a mailing list

We used to run a traditional mailing list for discussions about the CATweasel tools. For privacy reasons, we have now made a conscious decision to discontinue this, as mailing lists store personal data (such as email addresses) and distribute messages to all subscribers. This is something we want to avoid.

Instead, we are now making our news and updates available via an RSS feed. This means you’ll continue to receive updates automatically without having to register, provide an email address, or have any of your data processed by us. You have full control over when and how you access the feed or unsubscribe from it.

What is an RSS feed?

An RSS feed is a standardized news format that can be read by many programs, similar to a newsletter but completely anonymous. Your RSS reader regularly checks for new posts on our website and displays them automatically.

Here are a few more examples of how to set up RSS in popular newsreaders. However, these are only examples, and the steps may change over time due to software updates or other changes to the newsreaders. For detailed guidance, please refer to the manuals for the respective newsreaders.

Mozilla Thunderbird

  1. In Thunderbird, go to Account Settings → Account Actions → Add Feed Account.
  2. Enter https://alx-development.de/?feed=rss2 as the feed address.
  3. Thunderbird automatically downloads the latest posts.

Feedly (Web or App)

  1. Simply paste the feed URL https://alx-development.de/?feed=rss2 into the search field and add it.

Other readers or browser extensions

  1. Almost all modern RSS readers allow you to add the feed URL directly. You can also subscribe to it through many browsers or with compatible smartphone apps.
